Mime I

Mime is one of the most ancient forms of theatre, appearing around the time of the Greek tragedies. Throughout the ages of theatrical history, mime has made its mark on everything from religious festivals to street theatre and the classical ballet.Miming appears very simple but it takes a lot of skill and practice to make it appear realistic. Mime study can be very useful, not only for Mimes, Actors and other performers, but for anyone who needs to communicate clearly. This class focuses on the basic fundamentals of mime emphasizing control, expression and basic techniques.

Mime II

Moves beyond the fundamentals of mime and incorporates dance while developing control, poise, precision, fluency and using the technique and styles of miming. This class improves fundamentals including body alignment, correct positions and exact facials. Students who are serious about developing their pantomime skills will treasure the techniques acquired.

Eclectic Dance (Combination)

This class is designed to give the young dancer an opportunity to discover and explore different types of dance. It incorporates creative movement (lyrical), modern, jazz and hip-hop.

Note: Combination classes may include the following: modern, lyrical, creative movement, jazz and hip-hop. A wide variety of styles are used in the combination class to allow students to explore and experience the possibilities of movement. This variety also gives the teacher a base to make the class stimulating. When a student chooses to concentrate on a particular dance style, the individual classes in tap, jazz, hip hop, or mime are recommended.

Contemporary

Contemporary focuses primarily on executing choreography combinations which will utilize and expand the dancer's acquired technique and performance quality. Class requires at least one year of jazz or lyrical technique class and/or instructor approval.

Hip Hop

This is street dance style integrating jazz technique. Students will learn the latest new dance moves. This style of dance allows the body to move freely and funky, while integrating the dancer's own personal style.

Jazz

Jazz technique is based on the natural movement of the body and is designed to increase body control and coordination. Routines are set to modern and contemporary music.

Lyrical

Lyrical combines ballet technique with the soul of jazz. Combinations are choreographed as interpretation of the music's lyrics.
